Tucked into the geographic center of Montana and surrounded by five mountain ranges, Lewistown offers a rare combination of natural beauty, rich Western heritage, and genuine small-town community.
Unlike many of Montana’s rapidly growing resort markets, Lewistown has remained authentic to its roots. Historic brick buildings line Main Street, local businesses still know their customers by name, and generations of ranching families continue to shape the culture of the region. For many who discover Lewistown, it represents a Montana that feels increasingly difficult to find elsewhere.
Outdoor recreation is simply part of everyday life here. Residents enjoy easy access to world-class hunting and fishing, miles of hiking and biking trails, floating local rivers, and year-round community events—from rodeos and live music to seasonal festivals that bring the entire town together.
For families, Lewistown offers something increasingly rare: a place where children can grow up with some independence, vibrant schools, and a deep sense of community connection. For second-home owners and investors, it offers privacy, affordability relative to other Montana markets, and proximity to vast stretches of public land and open spaces.
For those seeking the beauty of Montana along with a slower, more meaningful pace of life, Lewistown is truly a hidden gem—and one that many are proud to call home.

What Makes Lewistown Special?
Our Story

Our family’s story in Lewistown began long before we officially moved here in 2024. After many wonderful years living in Kalispell and Bozeman, my husband Justin and I felt drawn to Central Montana and the slower, meaningful lifestyle that Lewistown offers.
I, Anne Sorensen, grew up in Seattle but spent my Summers on my grandparents’ cattle ranch about 25 miles northeast of Lewistown. Those early experiences shaped my love for Montana’s land and ranching heritage. In 2022, Justin and I were fortunate to purchase that very ranch—a dream that soon led us to make Lewistown our permanent home.
Moving to a small town where we initially knew very few people required a huge leap of faith. What we discovered, however, was an extraordinary community defined by authenticity, generosity, and deep-rooted Montana values. Our four children quickly became involved in local sports, FFA, church activities, and the many traditions that make this town so special.
Professionally, our move to Lewistown allowed us to pursue our love of real estate. Justin established his own business as a licensed property manager while I became a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Montana Properties. Together, we love helping clients discover the remarkable real estate opportunities found here—from historic homes and investment properties to legacy ranches and recreational retreats.
It would be an honor to introduce you to Lewistown! Our family is always happy to share our favorite local experiences—from restaurants and live music to rodeos, hiking and biking trails, fishing and hunting spots, river floats, and the can't-miss annual events that make Lewistown such a wonderful place to call home.
